Turbine Control Centre

The economic and energy market requirements for a subsea power conversion system drove OpenHydro to develop the award winning Turbine Control Centre (TCC). The TCC is geared towards fixing and controlling output from tidal arrays - to provide predictable, reliable energy and export it as efficiently as possible to the grid.

Crucially, the OpenHydro TCC facilitates an array architecture which requires only a single sub-sea cable to landfall: producing a transformation in the economics of tidal array development.

The Cape Sharp Tidal project in Canada will be the first deployment of this OpenHydro subsea TCC.
