Laurent Schneider Maunoury - Chairperson

Laurent Schneider Maunoury joined Naval Energies in early 2017 as Chairman of the group and CEO of OpenHydro. He started his career within the PSA Group, being responsible for industrial development and special advisor to the Préfet of the Champagne-Ardenne Region. He was appointed Manager of Snecma's Le Creusot plant, then from 2002 to 2005, Operation Group VP at Messier-Dowty. In 1996 he joined Safran, where he held various senior position including CEO of SLCA, a subsidiary of the Safran Group.

In 2011, he was appointed CEO of Saphymo, and in 2016 General Manager of Quantel, specialised in ophthalmological and industrial lasers, where he led the managerial and shareholder transition.

Laurent Schneider-Maunoury is 51 years old, graduated from Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, and holds an MBA from the Collège des Ingénieurs.

Patrick Asple - Non-Executive Director

Patrick Asple is a chartered management accountant who has significant experience in the renewable energy sector in Ireland and overseas. He holds a number of directorships in the food, property, waste management and energy sectors.

Christophe Lorin - Non-Executive Director

Christophe Lorin is VP Finance of Naval Energies. Prior to joining Naval in 2003, he started his career at EY in London and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He held a number of finance positions within the group involving long term contracts, transfer of technology and financial engineering. He is a graduate from EDHEC business school and holds a MBA degree from INSEAD.

Christian Richard - Non-Executive Director

Christian Richard is Vice President, Special Projects at Emera Inc. where he is engaged in business development projects focused on providing cleaner affordable energy. Christian brings expertise in the energy sector and industrial operations, having held senior roles at an electric utility and an international forestry company. Christian holds an engineering degree from the University of New Brunswick and a MBA from l’Université de Moncton.

Julien Marchal - Non-Executive Director

Julien Marchal is Director of Development and Public affairs and member of Naval Energies executive committee. He joined Naval Energies in March 2017 as Secretary General and he is a specialist of environment and energy policies. Previously, he was advisor of French Minister of economy and industry Emmanuel Macron from 2014 to 2016 and advisor of the French President François Hollande from 2012 to 2014.

Julien Marchal is an engineer graduated from the French Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole nationale des ponts et chaussées.

He is Member of the Board and interim President of the Board of “France Energies marines” an association dedicated to coordinate collaborative Research and Development in Marine renewables energies.

Alexandra Piéton - Non-Executive Director

Alexandra Pieton joined the Board of OpenHydro in 2017.

She is currently Chief Operating Officer of Naval Energies Group in charge of the Site Assessment, Product Development, Procurement, Manufacturing and Plants, Offshore Operations and Maintenance. Mrs Pieton began her career in 2002 at Serimax as Deputy Operations Manager. Prior to joining Naval Energies she was Project Director at TechnipFMC from 2011 to 2017, and Welding Department Manager from 2007 to 2011.

Mrs Pieton is 42 years old, graduated from the ESSA and the EPF.

Florence Sablon du Corail - Non-Executive Director

Florence Sablon du Corail, aged 47, joined the OpenHydro Board in January 2018. She started her career at the French Ministry of Defence where she was head of industrial and technological relationships with Eastern Asia and Pacific Asia. She is currently Director of Quality, Health & Safety, Environment, Internal Control and Risks at Naval Energies and member of the executive committee. Previously, she was Director at the Submarine Division of Naval Group, being head of Quality and Operational Excellence Programme.

Florence has strong experience in QSE management and risks anticipation and mitigation actions, at corporate level but also in tender processes and in projects with international and industrial partnerships.
