development: alderney

OpenHydro is working with Alderney Renewable Energy (ARE) to install an array of seabed mounted Open-Centre Turbines in Alderney's territorial waters.

Based in the Channel Islands, ARE is focused on the safe and environmentally sensitive development of Alderney's significant tidal resource.

Fully developed, the region could generate 3GW of electricity, capable of powering more than one million homes.

Initially a small array of turbines will be installed mounted on the seabed.
